To My Child

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying.

Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear and smile and say how perfect it is.

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

Just for this morning,  I will leave the dishes in the sink and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the computer, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for the afternoon, I will let all of my phone calls go to voicemail and ignore my texts, and I will sit with you and talk about what we could do.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and shine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if the truck comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours and miss my favorite TV shows.

just for this evening, I will run my fingers through your hair as you pray.  I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.  And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer and i will be grateful for one more day...

Easton's teacher sent this poem home to me, and I love it!!  It was perfect for how I have been feeling, BLESSED!  I can't tell you over the past few days the moment's I have just realized how amazingly blessed I am.  How fast time can get away from us, and how if we don't express it enough we may never get that chance again.  Children grow, time passes, people pass, the moments pass, if we don't take the opportunities before us, we may never get another chance.  I can't wait for summer, to spend oodles of time with my little one's, soak up the sun, plant a garden, go to the park, and just play.

One thing I was really impressed with on Sunday was how many amazing people I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet, know, and call friends.  I have amazing family, I couldn't ask for a better Mother, Father, Mother Father  in Law, Sisters, Brothers, Sister in Laws, Cousins, Grandparents etc...  Seriously how much space do you have on a blog... lol.  Then not to mention, teachers I have had, friends I have made in the past, present, and future, ward members, people who I have held callings with.....  Okay so basically I can't even start to make a list, I can't describe to you the feeling of awe as I thought about all the people who have influenced my life.  Thanks to each and everyone one of you.  I will forever be grateful for each and everyone of you!  People are good!

Also I realized how important thank you notes, little gratitude notes , or just thinking of you notes can be.  I got a note yesterday from a friend, and seriously I think it made my week, okay my year... ha ha.  I think too often I forget how big the little things, that take just a few minutes of our time, can be.  And how they can make such a difference in someone else's life.  Since I have been young I have always kept the little notes people have given me.  I have often went back through them and the little things they say can brighten my day in a few seconds.

So there you have it....  I need to slow down, smell the roses, enjoy my kids, and take a moment to give you all some love, because seriously you know you all deserve it. :)

Love you all!

P.S. I promise to give you all some picture love next time... Because face it we all know that a picture makes it easier to read... :)
